Just What Is It All About?

James Proclaims (4)

After yesterday’s lack of endeavour, I had really made an effort with today’s post. I was going to publish it this morning, but when I checked my emails I discovered that I’d signed up for a blogging course, run by WordPress, called Blogging 101. Part of the course is a daily assignment.

I’ve shelved today’s post because I follow a very strict rule of blogging once a day at most, even though I was certain from the outset that I’d be straining at the leash to write more, due to my incredibly fertile mind. All my extra ideas were to be kept in a file on my desktop, which I’ve cleverly called my ‘Blog Bank’.

Actually what I’ve discovered is that blogging daily is way too often, so today is the first day I’ve actually made a deposit in the ‘Blog Bank’. It’s a post about the perils of triangles, so watch out for that one when it finally makes it to the front page. It’s a zinger.

Anyway, I’ve started Blogging 101 in order to become a better blogger, because I’ve got something like 20 people following me at this point and at least fifteen of you are real people and you deserve a better ‘James Proclaims’.

Today’s assignment is this:

Write and publish a “who I am and why I’m here” post on your blog.

Well I’m James. That probably goes without saying. But I said it anyway…

Hmmm, not sure what else to write. Fortunately the assignment came with some helpful prompt questions. I’ll answer those…

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?

Because I want people to read what I write. And ultimately I want all of those people to validate me with lots of positive feedback.

  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?

I aim to deal with the full range of the current zeitgeist. But mostly I’ll just write about fairly trite stuff that has happened to me. Because that’s all I know about really.

  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?

Batman

  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

World peace is laudable so probably that. To swim with dolphins, and discover that I’m actually a much better swimmer than all of the dolphins and then to rub their long noses in that fact would be quite good. And finally to have invented a new kind of sauce, that is neither too spicy nor too bland and goes with fish and poultry.

Ok that’s that for day one of the course. I don’t want to get cocky but I think I’m nailing it so far.

You’re a hoot! I do prefer depth in the blogs I follow but I think I’ll follow you anyway-for my dose of laughter at least a few times a week😁
I’m way to serious. My personal blog that needs help is lifetimeofforgiveness.wordpress.com
Clicking on my name takes you to my husband’s and my travel blog….

I’m afraid you won’t find to much depth here (well never say never…) but hopefully I’ll make you smile. Will check out your blog with interest 🙂
