This One’s For You!

Day four of Blogging 101 and having used up all my naughty school kid metaphors yesterday, I’m going to buck up my ideas, knuckle down and do today’s assignment sensibly.

It is:

Publish a post you’d like your ideal audience member to read, and include a new-to-you element in it.

Seems pretty straight forward. Except for the whole ‘new-to-you element’. What is that? Well obviously it’s a made up term that is not used at all by real people and by rights I should pay it no heed.

But I did promise to do this sensibly, and even if the task is a little bit stupid, I should do all of it…

In fact I have used three ‘new-to-me’ elements in this post (there may end up being more, but there are three that are intentional). If you can spot them, please comment below yah. There are no prizes for correct answers but you will gain my esteem yah, which is worth approximately £50 on the open market yah.

Anyway, here’s the bit where I write to my ideal audience member:

Dear Ideal Audience Member,

I just wanted to say a huge thank you for being such a great audience member. You really tick all the boxes. I mean it, you’re awesome. You know how to read, and that’s a really important quality to find in a blog-follower. You also know how to use a computer quite well, which is often underrated in blog appreciation. Also, based on your comments and your regular use of the ‘like’ button, it’s apparent that you quite enjoy the stuff I write, which is possibly the main reason that I now regard you, and you alone, as my ideal audience member.

I’d also like to acknowledge your generous donation to the ‘James Proclaims’ Foundation. I assure you that the money you have given will go to some great causes and don’t believe the rumours; I always drove an Aston Martin DB5 like the one off of Goldfinger, that’s why they call me James.

Anyway, I just wanted to drop you a line to let you know that you’re the best!
