I’m partial to an ode
It’s not hard to see why
Though it follows a code
You only need comply
With rules about the rhymes
And it’s quite a simple scheme
Though easy to get wrong
Which we all do sometimes
But the ode still reigns supreme
When it can be sung like a song
James Proclaims and he is not yellow
Where other men’s hearts turn to jello
We all like him a lot
And his artistic tot
And his poems, which are soothing and mellow

I’m not sure that my poetry
Demonstrates much bravery
Except of course for on the part
Of the readers who need a lot of heart
And so I am forever grateful
For comments which are never hateful
But thanks to all the praise I’ve had
I’ll keep producing stuff this bad

I’ll check back when you write An Ode to Toads.

Ah, the classic English ode.
Nothing quite like it.

I’m more of a sonnet girl myself, but I DO love a good ode:-)

I enjoy a sonnet or an ode but I draw the line at an elegy

If I mention it then I am owed an ode to a toad on the road who never slowed as the truck carrying commodes never slowed and rode over the road once owed to the toad
Get to it and laugh

Given that odes follow a fairly strict rhyming pattern then it would seem unlikely that anyone could fulfil that particular request.

Well it was worth a try I have no idea what an ode is anyway. Keep smiling
