The September Sessions – 6 of 9

Hello art fans, it’s once again that time of the week when I try to pass off something my toddler drew with her washable felt-tip pens as actual art. Often people like to write critiques of said ‘art’ in the comments section.

It’s basically the same joke every week and yet somehow it remains one of the most popular things on my blog.

This week I bring you the sixth instalment (out of nine) of the seminal ‘September Sessions’, the drawings my daughter produced at the start of September when she was a bit ill. Not very ill but slightly too ill to take out in public due to current perceptions of the dangers sneezing and coughing.

Instead she stayed home and did a lot of drawings. This is one of them:

Beautiful. The artist has more talent in her two-year-old paw than some that hang in galleries. And she seems to be stretching her color pallete further.

Paradoxes flow from the artists prn as she imbues her work with a rustic sense of refinement the likes of which the art world has rarely seen. The deep symbolism causes us to consider a world where the unification of fire and water will no longer be myth, but reality.

This is a really seasonal piece with a jolly twist. The angst that was apparent in the artist’s previous work is here transformed into sheer joy. I can well imagine the subject strutting his proud way through the heather, here depicted in muted tones. A truly pleasant pheasant!

It could be the sleep deprivation, but I can now see a pheasant

The colours of the Union Jack all mangled up…. great metaphor For the UK at the moment.
Are you certain she’s only a toddler?

Chronologically she is definitely a toddler, but she outwits me most of the time so who knows?
