A Poem That Mainly Laments February

February is a short month
Even when it’s long
But if you think that brevity
Makes it easier, you’re wrong

February is still quite hard
The weather is still cold
And the days are still much shorter
Than I’d like if truth be told

Oh things improve toward the end
Of February’s short stint
Pay day comes much sooner
But I need it cos I’m skint

And in the middle of it all
There’s a bloke called Valentine
Who I used to hate but now tolerate
Because I have someone to call ‘mine’

No February is not a month
That merits much fanfare
I’ll save my applause for the arrival
Of my friend, the March Hare

    February can be quite lame
    It’s kind of a cliche that’s worn
Besides you really ought to be told
It’s the month that Herb was born.

I’m sure that makes February more tolerable. Send me some birthday cake and I’ll cheer up too

I think Fed-Ex charges more than I can afford to get it there overnight. I expect the regular mail would take 3 – 4 weeks, but I don’t know. We could try…

Your predicament gives me chills. But not enough to have me not gloat. And act like an old goat- unintentional rhyme there!
February, here, in the Southern hemisphere
Where the days are humid languorous and long,
Where the sun is a’blazing skies bright and clear-
Where that girl poolside looks hot in top and thong.

Never mind, it’ll be summer here soon enough and then I’ll be able to gloat about how it’s slightly warmer than it was but still quite rainy.

In Veganuary we all pretend to be vegans, so let’s change the name of February to Fabuary and pretend that it’s a great month. Job done!

Or maybe, as it hasn’t already become associated with a specific fad, we could call it Faduary and everyone could choose their own fad to adhere to for an arbitrary period of time.

Not my favourite month, I like it when we have years when we leap it.

Ah February–the month of the polar vortex. Such a charmer, that one. Love the poem!

Thanks. I do generally cheer up immensely by the end of February.

Two points in February’s favor: my birthday, and the Superbowl.

Neither mean much to me. Although I hope you have (or had) good birthday.

    January’s cold no doubt
    And February too
but without the snow and ice and such
My wife would have me out side working in the fricking garden and i wouldn’t get a lousy chance to sit on my lazy but.

I think I missed on that last line but the poem has feeling
