A stanza or poem made of four lines
And alternate rhymes not hard to maintain
Such simple rules are the only confines
Which is why we love a simple quatrain

  1. Indeed lovely, and instructional. May I offer an addendum? Hard LInes/Poetry’s easy peasy to do/Rhyme line 1 to 3,2 to 4/And so four lines makes a poet of you/ BUT only four, no more or it ain’t a quatrain anymore.
