Sometimes I write bad poetry
In itself that’s not a crime
But perhaps it is a little sin
That I often rhyme ‘crime’ with ‘rhyme’
Writing poems does amuse me
And they rarely take much time
And it’s not all that unusual
For me to rhyme ‘time’ with ‘rhyme’
Sometimes my bad poems
Find an audience with whom they chime
And this I think is honestly
The first time I’ve rhymed ‘chime’ with ‘rhyme’
If you don’t like bad poetry
Then don’t be sour like a lime
Although you might feel a little bitter
When you see I’ve rhymed ‘lime’ with ‘rhyme’
After all bad poems cost nothing
Not a penny, not a dime
Though that may not be consoling
If I just rhyme ‘dime’ with ‘rhyme’
Writing can sometimes be a struggle
A monumental uphill climb
But you know you’ve reached the top
When you can rhyme ‘climb’ with ‘rhyme’
I’ve scraped the poetic barrel
And I’ve come up with slime and grime
But looking on the bright side
Both ‘slime and ‘grime’ rhyme with ‘rhyme’
Yes the secret to bad poetry
Is to indiscriminately rhyme
Though it is perhaps unforgivable
When you just rhyme ‘rhyme’ with ‘rhyme’

It’s a tough call, the time rhyme
But you doggedly persisted,
I’m glad you took the time
Because though bitter and twisted-
Sublime.

As far as I’m concerned
I”ve learned
it’s fine
to also very nearly rhyme,
it makes the verse
no worse.

I’m not averse to semi-rhyming verse.
It’s more of a blessing than a curse
Though I’m sure some find it perverse
To rhyme verse with horse or arse

A spoken rhyme is much deserved but I don’t have the time
so I’ll decline the spoken rhyme, instead I’ll post a mime!
