This week I started wearing new clothes to work
Clothes largely in the style of my other work attire
But newer versions of them
New shoes, new trousers and a new v-neck jumper
The shirt and tie were older
But mainly covered by the v-neck jumper
The socks were newish, but have seen a few outings
My underwear was not visible to my colleagues
Which is to everyone’s preference in the main
But in the spirit of full disclosure
The boxer shorts were also fairly new
And several people have commented on how smart I look
And rather than take a compliment
I have spent the last few days
Wondering what they think I normally look like

  1. I have, today, discovered that my Mac gives me an AI assessment of each post and what a clever chap, or chapess, AI seems to be. FYI here it is:

A post reflects on the author’s recent decision to wear new work clothes similar to his usual style but newer.
    • New items included shoes, trousers, v-neck jumper, and boxer shorts; shirt and tie were older.
    • Colleagues remarked he looked smart.
    • Instead of accepting compliments, the author felt paranoid, wondering what colleagues usually think of his appearance.
    • The tone is humorous and self-deprecating.
    • Part of a recurring poetry and reflection series from “James Proclaims!”
