It has been a difficult time
For everyone
And the world might have changed now
Beyond all recognition
It is more than possible
That things will never be the same
And as a species we will have to adjust
To adapt, to reframe, to reflect
But out of the ashes of despair
Opportunity rises like the Phoenix
Now is the time to innovate
To improve
To reassess our priorities
To think differently
Although the current plan
As far as I can make out
Is to do things exactly the same as before
But less well
And from home.
In your pajamas.
With no manicure.
Or maybe that’s just me.

The lack of manicure applies but ‘from home’ is increasingly less of an option. Although I don’t actually think anyone would notice or care if I did turn up to work in my sleepwear

I fear you are absolutely correct James. Also sales of 1984 must have taken off during the lockdown and it was incorrectly catalogued as a How To Book.

I once saw 1984 performed as a ballet. It’s not really relevant except that ballet really isn’t my thing and I really enjoyed 1984 as a ballet. But even in ballet form, I don’t want 1984 to be a template for my actual life…

If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face—forever. Now with the boot wearer also wearing a tutu!
