The schools aren’t closing down? I don’t recall if you’ve said you were teaching from home, sorry.

Schools very much staying open in spite of compelling evidence that they are essentially germ factories

surely freedom is added time with the family?

Having a toddler, all non-work time is pretty much family time regardless of pandemics. Work is likely to get harder in the next few weeks so probably less time with the family if anything

Don’t worry. The PM said we’re definitely keeping schools open, so you’ll be closed by the end of next week.

There certainly seems to be a fair bit of preparation happening for that scenario

This is much the same for me. We’re now not able to do a bunch of things that we weren’t doing already.

There is some impact, but it’s very trivial

Same here, although we have been hearing a rumour that we will get a pound or two extra an hour for the lockdown which will do nicely. Rather be having a nap at home though, next to a suspiciously empty bottle of red wine.

I do enjoy a wine induced nap but sadly they are frowned upon in work

I never knew a Tanka was a poem. I thought Tanka was a toy truck
    Live and learn.
Where I live the town is open and all the schools are closed. Who can figure it out

I guess you just gotta laugh

I believe you’re thinking of Tonka, which is slightly different to Tanka and also to Tonga and Toga

This pandemic is wearing. I’m really feeling sorry for everyone – the kids in particular. I’m grateful I didn’t have to go through anything like this when I was a kid.

Hopefully my daughter is too young to really notice but a lot of the kids I work with are struggling

With one of my grade 12 boys, I had to do a little “suicide intervention” after hearing a poem he wrote. I decided he’s not suicidal but the poem was scary. I’ll keep checking in with him but I’m feeling pretty certain he’s okay; however, he’s totally bummed out by the pandemic. I think Little will be fine because she is too young. I’m glad for her.
