A Matter Of Fact

Sometimes a fact can be attacked for being inexact
But it is, in fact, inexact to claim that a fact is inexact
For then it would not be a fact
Because a fact is backed by the exact
An unbacked fact is not yet a fact
Though it may yet become a fact when it is backed
But if it is a fact then it remains a fact
Regardless of whether or not it is attacked
And it lacks tact to detract from a fact in order to enact a contract
Or form a pact to transact in spite of fact
But the system is cracked and odds are stacked against any fact
And when an extract of a fact is hijacked to counteract an intact fact
We must react because an intact fact is indeed a fact
But an extract of a fact though seemingly less abstract
May be inexact and so no longer a fact, in fact
And no-one should be sacked for adhering to a fact
But overreliance on the inexact
May subtract from the act of honouring a contract
For which being sacked might be the impact
Though in fact it appears inexact
To suggest that being sacked
Is the impact of an attacked fact
But when we interact we should all act as if a fact is a fact
And not as if the inexact is, in fact, a fact

    Seems factual enough.

Can anything really be factual enough?

As a wise man once said, “Dat’s de fact, Jack!” https://youtu.be/ZB52NEPJxUs

What you lacked you now have cracked. That’s a fact!

    To detract,
    From a fact,
    Just infract,
    With zero tact!

    Exactly so, in fact,
    I get vexed
    When those who text
    Are inexact
    Now that’s a fact.

Perhaps you should enact a text-free contract?

It sure would be an easier world these days if people could agree on what the facts are. Disinformation is clearly a killer, based on the events of January 6th. I’m feeling so worried about the US. (Sorry. Everyone was having fun after your absolutely brilliant poem, and then the skunk at the tea party showed up.)

It was the general disregard we seem to have for facts that inspired the poem. So you get an ‘A’ for interpretation but you can’t come out for Friday night drinks with everyone. Although that is more of a pandemic related issue in truth.

I promise I’d behave myself if I went out for drinks. I’d be cheerful and I wouldn’t talk about the looming end of the civilized world at all.

Ok, you can come. We’re delaying until a Friday in June because of the pandemic. June 2025.

I look forward to June 2025. When the time comes, just tell me where and when!

If you don’t act on a fact does it detract from the exact fact?
