      1. I found a great book once that had his haikus in English, the Roman spellings of the Japanese, the kanji to write it and the hirogana to look it up…

  8. I always have kids read poetry to the class for a public speaking grade. The presentation is to run 4 to 6 minutes. Years ago, a junior high student did a presentation entirely made up of haikus. The audience was mystified for minutes on end, and I sensed the presenter regretted the dreadful choice after having read about 4 haikus. I still laugh when I think about it.
