A Rapid Rhyme About Drinking Beer

Recently I fear
I’ve been drinking too much beer
Though it might be less risky
Than consuming excess whisky
It has often been my way
To knock back an IPA
I find you cannot fail
With a decent pale ale
Though I’d probably be fitter
If I eased off on the bitter
I know I really oughta
Stop downing so much porter
And I’m pretty sure that stout
Has resulted in some gout
I feel a little strange
So perhaps it’s time to change
I’m sure that I’ll be fine
Once I’ve cracked open the wine

    Always ready to give two thumbs up to an ode to drinking. And bottoms up.
    When one stops
    Cultivating the hops
    Fermented grape juices
    Have spiritual uses.

    and, absinthe is very difficult to find a rhyme for…

    There was a rhyme warning about drinking wine after beer. Or drinking beer after wine.

    Maybe it’s the drinking of both in any order that’s involved actually.

    Something like

    beware of mixing grape and grain
    it will eff your tiny brain

    Not sure if that’s right actually, but it does rhyme.

    Anyway, carry on.

      I do remember the rhyme, but I think you could switch the ‘after’ to ‘before’ and it would change the meaning but still work as a rhyme. So I never remember which way round to drink them but whichever way tends to result in quite a bad hangover these days

    Or act just like my sisters
    And enjoy 1 or 2 Pilsners
    Or what more can be said
    Bout a lovely Irish Red

      Shandy takes me back to my youth. Many a great binge drinker started on shandy
