Despite keeping up the pretence, even to myself, that I will make up the defecit caused by my feeble efforts on work days, by fully committing to going above and beyond on weekends with my novel-writing, I appear to have squandered another Saturday and the target of 50,000 words on or before the 30th November remains laughable.

Still I have persisted in attempting to write something everyday and even if I don’t complete my novel during NaNoWriMo, I am relatively pleased with the fact that I am writing regularly again.

The final novel may not be comleted at all in the end, but I think if I can maintain my commitment to writing during November, then I may well see my way to finishing the thing one day in the (probably distant) future irrespective of artificial deadlnes.

But all that is for another day. Today, I managed to produce 306 new words. When added to the previous total, that brings me up to 9,161 words overall.

I do think I will find time to write a bit more tomorrow, so hopefully I’ll break through the 10,000 word barrier. That seems like an achievable milestone.

Which does not, of course, mean that I’ll actually achieve it.
