I’m officially 2 weeks in to my NaNoWriMo/NaBloPoMo adventure. It’s not exactly the halfway point, but it feels like a milestone of sorts.

I’m now very firmly of the opinion that attemptng to write a whole novel in a month is madness, and I’m quite certain that I will not succeed in achieving that feat. But I’m fairly committed to sticking with the daily novel-writing, if for no other reason than just to see where I end up. My guess is that even 25,000 words would be an over-prediction, but I have had my most productive day thus far and so I’m happy to try to retain some optimism.

Today I wrote 2,015 words. If I could hit that kind of word count every day then 50,000 words in a month would be more than achievable. Alas I fear today was a one-off. But I did manage to pass the 10,000 word mark, which is not inconsequential from a morale perspective. My current total stands at 11,179 words.

I’m not entirely sure what my novel is about, but I’m not sure that even matters at this stage.
