Although I have two more days left of this challenge, today was really the last opportunity to have a big push towards the final word count.
I’ll be in work after today and novel-writing while at work would probably be frowned upon. I had a couple of productive evenings after work last week but the general rule of thumb has been that I’ve managed to write 500ish words of a school night, so to be with in a chance of hitting the 25000 word count that will allow me to claim that I have achieved 50% of my NaNoWriMo goal (which would in itself be no mean feat given that I have a full time job, a lively toddler and I’ve insisted on wasting additional time by blogging about my novel-writing exploits every day) I would need to have a word count in the regions of 24000 words by the end of today.
Fortunately I’m even further forwards than that and I’m currently sitting on a cool 24622 words, having contributed 1873 to the cause today.
Only 378 words left to write before I can truly describe myself as a NaNoWriMo also-ran.
I think I can do it.
