A Rapid Rhyme About The Denouement Of Christmas

Epiphany is still yet days away
The fridge contains leftover roast
But it’s clear that the holiday’s over
Christmas Spirit has given up the ghost

I’m not quite prepared to eschew
The remaining Christmas delights
But I need to get back to normality
And have a few earlier nights

So today the tree must come down
And ornaments return to their box
And as of tomorrow plain black
Will replace my Christmas-themed socks

But sad though Christmas’ end is
It cannot be everyday
For if my festive diet continues
I’ll be heavier than Santa’s sleigh

Never mind, you can escape it all by going back to work next week!

A true rhyme Although since no one sees the socks beneath your slacks. Keep the holiday going on your feet. And have a Christmas smile to yourself the whole year through. Or until you get caught whichever comes first.

    despite the twelve days’ exhortations
    I’ve taken down my decorations.
    Happy New Year.

Santa’s just trying to level the field – he’s got a few weight issues of his own as I understand it.
