Bedroom with a wooden bed, floral bedspread, plants, and a laundry basket overflowing with clothes
This laundry pile, it never ends
The dirty clothes invite their friends
Although some unmatched socks get washed
The pile's resistance remains unquashed

For every load the machine cleans
There seems no shortage of soiled jeans
And underneath like swarming ants
A growing team of underpants

The laundry will not disappear
Laundry is forever here
Unless we disregard the nose
And from now on wear dirty clothes

  1. Underneath like swarming ants, a growing team of underpants” James, that’s genuinely one of the finest rhymes committed to the English language. 😄 The only real solution proposed here (disregard the nose, wear dirty clothes) is honestly tempting some weeks. This is the “cycle” no one warns you about before adulthood.

    1. If only my laundry management skills were as good as my rhymes. I suppose the warnings were always there in childhood, but I certainly didn’t heed them.

      1. Ha! If good rhymes could fold laundry, James, you’d have the tidiest home in the land! 😄 But honestly, I’d take the poetic gift over sorting socks any day. The warnings never stood a chance against a mind this fun! 🩲

  3. I completely finished laundry once and was so proud. Then I realized we’re all still wearing something, and it’s not really done. 🤣😎🙃
