Well, here I am on the Substack
For years I’ve been toiling away over on The WordPress, being largely ignored, when it turns out there was a whole new way for me to be ignored that happened while I wasn’t paying attention.
The ignoring is a two-way street, you see. I ignore the world and the world ignores me, and we’ve all been comfortable with this arrangement for a very long time.
But I’m not comfortable with it any more.
I’ve got things I need to say and I want the world to listen.
Well, actually, I’ve really got nothing to say but I still want the world to listen.
That’s how the world works now, isn’t it?
Everybody shouts loudly and nobody listens.
Well, I’m joining in.
By doing this.
Which isn’t really different to the other thing I did.
But it’s on a different platform.
But also on the same platform.
Basically, this — the thing you’re reading now — is on Substack.
But it’s also on WordPress.
Which is where my blog lives.
Which is called James Proclaims.
So I’m here but I’m also there.
And if you’re reading this via the Substack, then here is the Substack and there is the WordPress.
And if you’re doing it the other way, then, well, I won’t patronise you.
You can work it out.
The important thing is to subscribe.
And then you can read more of this sort of thing without having to make the effort to go to my carefully curated and well-put-together blog.
Although, if you really like this a lot, then there is eleven years’ worth of stuff on the blog.
So go there.
Or stay here.
If you’re already here.
Or there.
Tell your friends.
Tell my friends.
Tell your enemies.
Do you have enemies?
I don’t think I do. I’m not aware of any.
I used to describe this kid at school as my enemy.
When I was a kid, obviously.
Not during my career as a teacher. That would be unprofessional.
But when I was a kid, there was this other kid and I used to refer to him as my enemy.
But we’ve lost touch since school.
He’s not exactly Lex Luthor to my Superman.
Although I am assuming he was the bad guy.
Maybe I was the bad guy.
Or maybe neither of us were and I was overstating the whole thing.
But if you have enemies, and you’re still on speaking terms, then tell them all about me and my writing.
They might enjoy it.
Bad guys always like a laugh, don’t they?
Right, so, in conclusion, this is this but this is also that and, if you like this, you need to subscribe, I expect.
Thank you.
