It’s Sunday so it’s time to summarise.

And what a week it’s been.

Actually, I’ve spent most of this week alternating between being quite stressed that I have to go back to work next week and volunteering at the Reading Festival. Which I do every summer. Mainly to take my mind off the fact I have to go back to work after the summer holidays.

But there has been a lot of blogging from me too.

Recently I’ve rediscovered my blogging mojo and I’ve been producing a lot of content, largely sticking to a schedule of posting that I dreamt up in June, which allowed for five posts a week, including this summary of all the things I’d posted.

But over the summer holidays I added in a podcast that no-one listens to, which got me up to six posts a week.

I’ve gone one better this week though, and I also posted something on Saturday.

Which makes this a seven-post week!

Seven!

I’m like a writing machine at the moment.

Well no, that’s not a good simile. A writing machine is a typewriter, or a word processor, or a computer.

I’m using a writing machine to write this.

I’m not a writing machine.

But I have been prolific.

But it occurs to me that perhaps you are one of the small number of people, the exclusive club if you will, of people who subscribe to this blog and you don’t want to be bombarded with daily posts.

That’s why I set up my Substack account, the one I wrote about yesterday. There I’m posting one thing a week. It’s one of the things I post on here, so it’s like here but significantly more exclusive. Seeing as no-one is subscribing to me there yet.

Substack ‘James Proclaims’ is like ‘Diet James Proclaims’. If you prefer your ‘James Proclaims’ fully loaded, then it’s best to stay here on the WordPress.

If you don’t like ‘James Proclaims’ at all then why are you reading this?

Oh, you’re not.

Sorry, my mistake.

Anyway, after that long preamble, allow me to summarise this week’s output:

Monday I wrote about using a colander to look at the recent eclipse. Sort of. It’s actually a heartwarming and hilarious piece about my kids. Again.

Tuesday was episode 3 of the aforementioned podcast.

Wednesday, a lazy haiku that I think demonstrates my brain’s slow shift back into ‘work mode’.

Thursday, a throwback post to one of my personal favourites from the 2016 era of James Proclaims.

Friday, a poem which definitely shows I’m stressed about going back to work.

Saturday, a post which encourages you to check out my new Substack account. The one I wrote about above. I don’t think I like Substack very much actually, but nothing ventured, nothing gained. Although thus far my summary of Substack would be ‘something ventured, nothing gained’…

Which brings us up to today and this. Which was surprisingly good for a post that is just meant to be a summary of other stuff.

And if you’re worried that me going back to work means that my sudden productivity on this blog will fade again (as has been the case in previous false dawns) then worry not – I have scheduled a lot of advanced posts to get us through to the next time I’m off work in October.

Including the podcast.

Which is madness really.
