It’s Sunday again, and therefore time for me to sum up my week in blogging.

And I’m well and truly back now, posting seven days a week and none of it filler.

Well, except for this post, obviously. This is all filler.

And arguably my Throwback Thursday post is filler too.

And maybe the Wednesday haiku.

But the rest is killer.

Well, ‘killer’ by my standards.

Which are questionable.

But I’m back to blogging every day and, even though WordPress seems to be increasingly obsessed with streaks, I can assure you I’m not.

When WordPress tells me today that I’m on a 15-day posting streak, I won’t even care.

Except to wonder where WordPress’ cheerleading was back in 2020/21, when I really was on a mission to post consecutively.

But these days I don’t need a cheerleader.

I’m not interested in things like ‘posting streaks’.

Or even ‘activity streaks’.

I don’t even know what the last one is.

And I’m on a 26-day one of them.

Crazy.

No, I’m not here for the streaks, or the stats. I’m here because, frankly, posting on here — and now increasingly on other social media — is the only way I can manage my midlife crisis.

Which, it seems, is very real.

Perhaps people are reading this. Perhaps they aren’t. But frankly, I’m not sure any of it matters any more.

I’m going to keep doing this, regardless of audience, because if I stop, then I might just have time alone with my thoughts.

And no one should be alone with my thoughts.

Actually, I do have the safety net of my children.

They help take my mind off things.

By making me think about other things.

Like unicorns.

Let’s all think about unicorns for a moment.

That was nice, wasn’t it?

So, what have I been up to this week?

Let’s find out, shall we?

Monday I posted a piece about how we visited a donkey sanctuary during the summer holidays and adopted a donkey.

Tuesday was this week’s episode of the podcast that nobody really listens to.

If you watched the video — which frankly you didn’t — you’ll have noticed that the lighting was terrible.

But the audio was good.

And it was better than the first three episodes, so I do seem to be getting better at talking on these things.

My production values are still in need of some fine-tuning though.

Wednesday was a haiku about procrastination. Which is my go-to topic for haikus when I’m feeling uninspired.

But I do procrastinate a lot, so I am an expert in the field.

Thursday was a throwback to 2015 and one of my all-time favourite posts. The one about soup.

I loved this one when I wrote it and I still love it now.

Friday was a poem about how I find myself quite a difficult person to live with.

Which is broadly true.

I am difficult to live with.

Especially if you’re me.

Saturday’s bonus post was about how I’m all over social media and haven’t got a clue what I’m doing.

Which is definitely happening.

There are links to all the madness at the bottom of my posts on here.

The Substack is largely forgettable, but YouTube seems to be a place where people enjoy my witterings.

Less so the podcast, but the Shorts are easily as popular as this blog and tolerated by tens of people the world over.

Which brings us up to today and this.

Which is this.

And also all of that.

And I can confidently tell you now that, despite my indifference, the streak will continue tomorrow and shows no signs of stopping any time soon.

It’s a good job no one’s paying any attention to me, really.
