Few things in life will cause more distress
Than a plate which contains far, far less
Of the food I imagined there'd be
When I ordered this dish for...well me
It is not that I'm truly a glutton
I'm not even partial to mutton
But when I order a main course dish
To be well-fed is really my wish
I think it is reasonably fair
To consume more than is my fair share
I treat an evening eating out
As an opportunity to acquire gout
The challenge of 'all you can eat'
Is really my idea of a treat
Regret is my gift to tomorrow
A day of indigestible sorrow
