The Sunday Summary: Still Streaking Along

It’s Sunday evening!

I almost forgot to publish my weekly Sunday Summary!

Which is ridiculous, really, because it’s essentially free content and exactly the kind of post that’s more or less designed to keep up those ‘streaks’ that WordPress keeps banging on about.

My life is full of streaks at the moment. I’ve finally succumbed to Little Proclaims’ request to upgrade her ordinary Duolingo account to a Super Duolingo account, and I thought I might as well go for the family package, as Mrs Proclaims is also a Duolingoer.

And once I’d committed to that, I thought I might as well join in the fun.

And I’m already on an eight-day streak.

Which is fantastic.

I’ve got all the XP and all the blue gems, and one day I might even understand what it all means.

And if I can maintain a streak on there, then I can also maintain a streak on here. And not one of those rubbish ‘Activity Streaks’ either, but a proper posting streak, like the kind I used to really care about when I was a real blogger.

As opposed to the social-media fiend I’ve now become, with all my TikToking and YouTubing.

But I have been active on the blog.

I am still sort of a real blogger.

Just look at what I’ve done this week:

Monday, I produced something about talking to my children. Which is both delightful and confusing. The talking to children, I mean. Hopefully the post isn’t too confusing. I’ll let you judge its delightfulness.

Tuesday is my podcast day. Episode 5, no less. And the consensus of both my listeners is that I’m getting better as time goes on. So skip Episode 1 and dive in here.

Wednesday was a haiku about quality and quantity not being the same thing. Which makes a mockery of a WordPress streak really, doesn’t it?

Thursday was a throwback. To 2015. And me being confused about waving to people.

Friday was a poem about overeating. Which I’ve been known to do, so you can trust my relative expertise on the subject.

Saturday was a bonus post about the fact that I was ‘Freshly Pressed’ by WordPress back in July—and how it was too little too late, frankly.

Which brings us up to Sunday and this shameless streak-maintaining post.

But there will be another post tomorrow that is an actual post about something.
