Today I have nothing of worth to say
But it appears that I’m saying it anyway
And when I have nothing to convey
Bad poetry often becomes my mainstay
Indeed on this blog there’s a fine array
Of underwhelming haikus on display
It’s a tactic I tend to overplay
In my quest to post something everyday
And if this rhyme makes you wish to inveigh
I hope you will grant me some leeway
Because at least today I can relay
That there is no haiku to cause dismay

  1. I find it fascinating that your poetry feels the need to justify it’s existence. Usually Poetry as an art form is free of spirit and therefore needs no justification at all. Yours is not so bad as all that and certainly not as bad as say ohhhhh Mine
