When you are a blogger
That is plagued by writer’s block
And you’re trying to post daily
And you’re up against the clock
It’s better not to worry
That you’re running out of time
Instead just phone it in
With a facile little rhyme

  1. Phoning it in is the perfect antidote to writers block.

  2. A quick tip.

If you feel under pressure, post a blank space and title it Blank Verse.
First benefit, you don’t have to write anything other than the title.
Second benefit, you will sound both erudite and witty.
Third benefit, it will still enthral your followers and make them hungry for more.
    A true win-win situation.

I can testify to this, as by writing nothing recently, I have picked up more followers than when I was

    1. While I do love that idea, I feel that to use it now would be plagiarism. I’m not above plagiarism so look out for that post on this blog soon.

  3. Facile? I thought it was very good! But I feel your pain, and I only write once a week!

    1. I used to only write once a week and it was much harder because then I thought that standards were important. Blogging daily has released me from any kind of quality control.

  4. When is the final whistle due? Or can you keep playing the ball into the corner for running down the clock until the game’s over?

    1. I get to pick up the winner’s medal and souvenir t-shirt on the 23rd March. I feel that I’m going to have to play a few more haikus to be sure of the ‘victory’

      1. Well, I suppose the deal is you want to write them all and not that we have to read them all, so it seems churlish not to encourage you and wish you the best to complete your arbitrary task (Umm… there’s no replay if it’s a draw, is there?)

      2. I remain genuinely surprised that I get any readers regardless of arbitrary tasks but I can assure you there will be no replays. There may well be more arbitrary tasks though.

  5. It’s quite the feat,
    Producing a daily treat
    With deadlines to beat-
    Mere seconds from defeat
    Daily ask just complete
    And I pressed ‘Delete.’
    Aaaaaaaaaaagh, Blankety blank sheet.
